I am a first-generation Korean-American who moved to the US for better opportunities. I know firsthand how key opportunities can lead to generational change. We created this organization to give access to those opportunities to children and families in underprivileged communities in Ethiopia. It is a privilege to be able to witness how impactful these opportunities can be. To be able to honor my son through this work has been rewarding.
I am the proud mother of Matthew and Debbie and grandmother of two. I experienced poverty and hardship in my childhood which inspired the work we do in Ethiopia. To be able to provide water, education, and investment in community businesses has been a privilege. Matthew’s memory lives on in the smiles and laughter of hundreds of children who attend the school we were able to build.
I am extremely grateful that Mr. and Mrs. Nam granted me the opportunity to work on a cause so close to our hearts. I am currently a second-year at Emory University majoring in Biology and minoring in Neuroethics in pursuit of becoming a lawyer. At Emory, I am Divisional Representative in Student Government and work in a research lab studying depression and anhedonia. On Tuesdays, I'm blessed to be able to volunteer at the Shepherd Center where I help with neurorehabilitation. Feel free to reach out to me at: mzdrilich@gmail.com, and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
I am an accounting executive, wife and mother to two small children residing in Southern California. I am also blessed to be Matthew Nam’s older sister. Reflecting back on my childhood with Matthew I am inspired by his compassion, generosity and big heart. I carry on his legacy through my involvement with church and various charitable organizations focused on needs for children.
